For a home espresso machine or a moka pot. Ledger Blend and Cerrado are roasted for it.

Whole bean holds its sweetness for about six weeks; ground coffee for two to three.

The roaster answers

Short answers to the things home brewers write in about most. Anything else goes to the roaster directly; Tom replies the same day, before Tuesday’s roast if it is about your order.

How fresh is a bag when it reaches me?

Every coffee is roasted on Tuesday and posted on Wednesday, so a parcel to Melbourne or Sydney usually lands three to five days off the roaster. The roast date is typed on the label; filter coffees taste best from day seven, espresso from day ten, and both hold up for about six weeks.

Which grind should I pick if I use a moka pot or an AeroPress?

Choose Espresso for a moka pot, a touch coarser is not needed. For an AeroPress choose Filter. If you use something else entirely, pick Whole bean or write the brewer in the order note and we set the burrs by hand for it.

Can I pause or change a subscription?

Yes, by replying to any dispatch email before Monday 5 pm. You can skip a roast, swap to another coffee on the list, change the grind, or stop altogether. There is no minimum number of bags and no exit fee.

What does postage cost?

One-off orders are $9.50 by tracked post anywhere in Australia and free over $60. Every subscription bag is posted free. We do not post overseas yet.

Do you sell decaf that tastes like coffee?

Decaf Huila is decaffeinated in Colombia with sugarcane ethyl acetate, not solvents shipped in, and we roast it to the same medium as the regular Huila. Most people cannot pick it in milk. It is on the same 250 g and 1 kg sizes and the same grind choices.

What if I do not like a coffee?

Tell us within 30 days and we send a different coffee or refund the bag, opened or not. We would rather know which cup did not suit you than have the bag sit in a cupboard.
